BIAC General Assembly Meeting Highlights
On February 17, 2025, the Business at OECD (BIAC) General Assembly convened in Paris, gathering business leaders from member nations. The event addressed critical challenges faced by the global business community in 2025. Representing Thailand’s private sector, the JSCCIB participated following its observer membership in BIAC, which commenced in October 2024.
Business leaders are navigating a fragmented global landscape marked by rising geopolitical tensions and increased unpredictability. The OECD’s long-standing mantra—“Business thrives on a predictable, rules-based international order”—emphasizes the necessity for collaboration. This year’s Assembly focused on enhancing economic cooperation to mitigate uncertainty and foster competitiveness among OECD countries.
The meeting identified three priority recommendations: enhancing business competitiveness through structural reforms, promoting conditions for innovation and favorable market environments, and advocating for open and fair markets. Thailand’s journey towards OECD membership underscores its commitment to these principles, setting the stage for substantial reforms and enhanced global economic contributions.
