LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Six local businesses have set up shop in the North Village Market at Norton Commons.
The businesses provide a range of products, including menswear, home decor, sweet treats and jewelry.
Those include:
According to a news release, Crittenden Gentlemen’s Clothing was founded in 2003 by Critt Rawlings—former Polo/Ralph Lauren and Oxxford Clothes president. A “celebrated brand” that has been sold across the U.S. since its founding, Norton Commons said the store will bring “a legacy of style, craftsmanship, and quiet luxury.”
The “cult-favorite” brand is known for its “refined, timeless British-inspired menswear.” The clothes are designed at Crittenden’s home base in Midway, Kentucky, and made in Europe.
“We’ve been looking to open a location in Louisville, and are absolutely in love with Norton Commons, so when a space finally opened up, we jumped at the chance,” Judy Rawlings, owner of Crittenden Gentlemen’s Clothing, said in a news release. “We’re so ready to bring timeless, high-quality menswear to Norton Commons and be part of a community that truly supports small business.”
The North Village Market opened in Norton Commons in 2018. Each cottage is just under 200 square feet, and are usually open through the December holiday shopping season. Officials said additional businesses rotate in through the cottages in the fall and winter.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Norton Commons is located on about 600 acres of land in northeast Jefferson County. It’s home to more than 1,800 residences and more than 100 businesses. There are also three schools and dozens of parks, pools and green spaces.
“We launched the cottages as a way to nurture and grow local entrepreneurship,” Sarah Pitts, marketing director for Norton Commons, said in a news release. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see how many businesses have used their time in the cottages as a springboard to larger retail spaces in the neighborhood. Every year, the lineup brings something new and exciting to the market.”
The retail cottages at 6301 Moonseed St. are open Fridays from 4-8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. There is also a weekly farmers market every Saturday from 12-3 p.m.
