The coffee and lifestyle brand, founded in 2014 and with a branch in Wimborne, has been shortlisted in the equity-backed entrepreneur of the year category.

The awards, known as ‘The Grammys of Entrepreneurship’, celebrate the most inspiring business stories across the UK.

This year, more than 800 entrepreneurs have made the shortlist.

Craig Bunting, who founded Bear alongside Michael Thorley, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist.

“It’s an incredible honour to be recognised alongside some of the UK’s most exciting and ambitious businesses.”

Bear serves sustainably sourced speciality coffee, fresh food, cocktails and craft beer in its eight UK branches.

The brand has a “focus on sustainability and community”.

It also has branches in Uttoxeter, Derby, Stone, Northwich, Ashbourne and Nottingham.

Frankie James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: “We’re so proud to reveal this year’s shortlist, a truly remarkable group of founders who are changing lives and transforming industries.”

The winners of the awards will be announced on Monday, November 17, at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House.

More than 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders will attend the event.
