Bengaluru Faces Job Crisis Due to AI

Bengaluru, India’s tech capital, is facing a severe job crisis due to large-scale layoffs in the IT industry and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.

Low-paying IT workers, who rely on affordable housing like paying guest (PG) accommodations, are the first to be affected as companies cut costs and switch to AI-driven solutions for tasks like coding and debugging.

This sudden unemployment will reduce demand for low-cost housing, causing financial distress for landlords and property investors, especially around tech hubs like the Outer Ring Road.

Real estate investors who heavily invested in rental properties for IT professionals will suffer losses as property values decline and buildings remain vacant.

The crisis is not yet fully visible as many underestimate AI’s rapid impact on the job market.

However, the ripple effect will soon spread to other sectors like finance and operations, leading to a potential economic slump for Bengaluru and India as a whole.
