Trichy: Teams from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) secured first place in the CAPSTONE 2 0 and CAPSIMbusiness simulation competitions, which feature participants from leading business schools worldwide.According to BIM officials, two teams of two students each participated in the competition. A final-year MBA team comprising Prasana Subramaniam and Yutesh P took part in the CAPSTONE challenge, while another team of 1st year MBA comprising S Venkatesh and Pazhani Shankar competed in CAPSIM. “This is the first time that two teams from the same institution have won first place in both the foundation and advanced competitions in the Challenge’s 20-year history of hosting top B-schools across the world, including institutions in India like the IIMs. The teams now find a place in the CAPSIM Hall of Fame,” an official source said. R Subramanian, the mentor who trained the teams, said, “Through these simulation competitions, students continuously learn, unlearn, and relearn—an essential process to succeed in today’s world.” BIM director Asit K Barma hailed the achievement as a testament to Tamil Nadu’s capacity to compete and win on the global stage. “With autonomy in a university ecosystem, institutions can invest in centres of excellence to create world-class experiential learning. This win further validates the robustness of our MBA programme, which prepares students to thrive in a rapidly changing, complex business environment,” he said.
