Italy-based travel management company BizAway has appointed Dario Rizzo to the role of global marketing manager as the firm looks to enhance its “digital expertise in communication and customer support”.
In a statement, BizAway said that Rizzo has a “strong background” in digital strategy and B2B marketing after previously working for European companies including Tribe47, GetResponse and Factorial during this career.
Luca Carlucci, CEO of BizAway, added: “We are excited to welcome Dario to our team. He will help us enhance a brand that is increasingly focused on building a sense of community, sharing knowledge and experience, and creating new opportunities to support even more companies and travellers”.
BizAway, which was ranked as seventh largest TMC in Italy and the 15th largest in Spain in 2024, currently has eight offices in Italy as well as a presence in Spain, Albania and Dubai.
The TMC, which combines proprietary travel management software with inhouse service, said it has an “increasingly global business vision”.
“I’m thrilled to join BizAway, an ambitious company that values people and maintains a strong focus on environmental sustainability,” said Rizzo.
“I come from a small-town background where working with customers in my family’s store made me realise early on that commerce, personal relationships and communication would be my lifelong interests.
“True success lies in the desire to grow, learn from others and share experiences, inspiring those who will achieve even greater milestones in the future.”
BizAway, which was founded by Carlucci and Flavio Del Bianco in 2015, has raised more than €50 million in funding, including an investment of €35 million from Mayfair Equity Partners last year.
