
The students were all part of BUS-J 211: Foundations of Integrated Business Decision Making, taught by William Haeberle, IU Columbus Director of Undergraduate Business Education.
Students were tasked with managing a virtual company in a business simulation. Each week, top performers were highlighted based on overall company score, earnings per share, return on equity, stock price, credit rating, and image (brand) rating.
Jovany Martinez, managing BlackHawk Company, achieved outstanding results, ranking in the top five in three different categories. He placed:
- second in the world in overall company score
- fifth in earnings per share
Overall, IU Columbus had 27 students place in the Glo-Bus Global Top 100 in 48 different categories, showcasing their business knowledge, creativity and strategic thinking. Those students include:
“Watching these students growing into sharp, strategic and integrative thinkers has been a privilege,” Haeberle said. “Their success is well earned and a sign of great things to come.”
