Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met with Union Minister of Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss a range of issues, including employment generation.
“I had the opportunity to have a cordial meeting with the Union Minister of Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri @mansukhmandviya ji, Government of India. In this meeting, we had a positive discussion on important topics related to employment generation, skill development, and sports participation for the youth of Delhi,” the CM posted on X.
She said the government “will realise the dream of a developed Delhi” by making the city a leader in every field through the collective efforts of the “double engine” government.
The BJP, in its manifesto before the Assembly elections, promised to provide government jobs to 50,000 youth in Delhi in a timely manner, along with employment and self-employment opportunities to 20 lakh youth in Delhi.
“We will provide financial assistance of up to ₹5,000 monthly and insurance coverage to every intern under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme,” an excerpt from the manifesto read.
The party had also promised to conduct a Skill Census in Delhi to collect data on skills and unemployment to help improve employment opportunities.
To encourage youth participation in sports, the BJP has vowed to upgrade all existing sports complexes and develop them into state-of-the-art centers with modern amenities.
