The Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation (DETR) has released its February 2025 economic report.
DETR states that while the workforce increased by 3,318 people, the state’s unemployment rate stayed at 5.8%.
They say there were 1,572,200 nonfarm jobs in Nevada overall, up 0.4 percent from the previous year and down 1,600 since last month.
DETR says employment in the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which is seasonally adjusted, showed that employment in Las Vegas fell 2,600 jobs (0.2%) since February 2024 and 3,600 jobs (0.3%) from January.
While employment in Reno increased by 4,100 jobs (1.5%) since February 2024 and by 500 jobs (0.2%) since January.
And employment in Carson City has increased by 400 jobs (1.3%) since February 2024 but has decreased by 200 jobs (0.6%) from January.
