Stocks were rising again Wednesday after a Bloomberg report said the White House was weighing a one-month delay of tariffs on auto makers.
The Dow was up 233 points, or 0.5%. The S&P 500 was up 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.5%.
Bloomberg reported Trump administration officials met with the leaders of Ford Motor, General Motors, and Stellantis.
Stocks have traded sideways all day as Wall Street wondered whether Trump would walk back 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
Shares of the auto makers mentioned in the report were rallying.
