Employment in Catalonia set a new record in April 2025.

According to the latest data shared by the Spanish Ministry of Inclusion and Social Security, 3.84 million workers were registered with Social Security, an increase of 0.98%—or 37,403 people—compared to March.

This rise is attributed to the new jobs created around Easter Week, which took place in March last year.

Over the past twelve months, 80,046 new jobs have been created, marking a 2.13% year-on-year increase.

The positive employment figures coincide with a drop in unemployment, which fell by 6,048 from March to April, reaching 325,717 jobseekers, according to the Spanish Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

Compared to April of last year, unemployment has fallen by 3.36%, meaning there are 11,313 fewer job seekers in Catalonia than twelve months ago.
