Patna: Congress on Tuesday asked why the state govt was not filling the 5 lakh posts vacant in 45 depts and announced to stage protests on the issue of employment in 25 districts of the state on Thursday.The same day the INDI Alliance coordination committee, under RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, will meet again to discuss plans to counter NDA in the assembly elections due this year.Addressing a press conference, Congress state president Rajesh Kumar said national leaders and Youth Congress workers will join the protests with the slogan: “Give jobs or leave power”.The Congress has planned demonstrations in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah, Gaya, Aurangabad, Sasaram, Supaul, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Sitamarhi, Buxar, Begusarai, Samastipur, Khagaria, Vaishali, Araria, Madhubani, Saran, Bhojpur, Purnia, Siwan among other districts. The Congress state president also asked when will the five lakh vacant posts in 45 departments be filled; how did Bihar become a hub of paper leak and shouldn’t there be an impartial investigation into it; when will the contract workers be made permanent; and when will the workers be given equal pay for equal work. He also asked when the migration from Bihar would stop. Rajesh said the opposition alliance will contest elections on public interest issues. “If we form govt, we will restore jobs on vacant posts in all departments,” he said.
