The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has registered a net addition of 16 lakh 10 thousand members during February this year. This represents an increase of almost 4 percent in net members compared to February 2024. The Ministry of Labour and Employment attributed this surge in members to growing employment opportunities, increased awareness of employee benefits, and EPFO’s effective outreach initiatives.

According to EPFO’s provisional payroll data, around 7 lakh 39 thousand new members were added in February 2025. The data highlights that four lakh 27 thousand new members were added in the 18 to 25 age group. Also, around two lakh eight thousand women were added as new members during the same month, reflecting a growth of 1.26 per cent in comparison to the same period last year.
