Five venture firms set to operate out of Covington’s SparkHaus

Five venture capital firms will establish offices inside SparkHaus, Northern Kentucky’s new entrepreneurship hub at 727 Madison Ave. in Covington.

The firms, eGateway Capital, Keyhorse Capital, Fireroad Ventures, Commonwealth Seed Capital and the Kentucky Angel Collective, represent a range of investment strategies, from seed-stage to growth capital.

  • eGateway Capital is a Kentucky-based venture capital firm with $120 million raised, focusing on late-stage and early growth-stage technology companies.
  • Keyhorse Capital is operated by the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation and invests in early-stage startups with support from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.
  • Fireroad Ventures is a pre-seed fund that supports founders developing applied AI and automation solutions, and it closed its first $5 million fund last year.
  • Commonwealth Seed Capital has invested over $40 million in Kentucky technology startups since it was established.
  • The Kentucky Angel Collective, a statewide angel investor network launched in June 2025, offers early funding and mentorship to entrepreneurs.

Additionally, Connetic Ventures, which is located across the street from SparkHaus, will also have a presence in the building as a founding sponsor and corporate coworking member.

“These investors bring not only capital but also deep expertise, networks and mentorship to our entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Blue North Executive Director Dave Knox said in a news release from Kenton County. “Having them share the same halls with local founders will spark conversations, create collisions and open doors to opportunities that will accelerate growth across Northern Kentucky and beyond.”

SparkHaus, slated to open on Sept. 22, promises to be the capital of Northern Kentucky’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. It will host startups, investment firms and entrepreneurial support organizations in one centrally located office hub.
