Former Employment and Labor Minister Kim Moon-soo, a candidate for the People’s Power presidential primary, said on the 19th, “Hyundai Motor said it would invest 31 trillion won in the United States.” Then, domestic jobs will be reduced that much,” he said.
Candidate Kim made the announcement at the first Group A debate of the People’s Power held at the ASSA Art Hall in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, by choosing a job among “low birth rate, basic income, global competitiveness, and jobs” presented as the keyword of “people’s livelihood, economy, and welfare,” which is a common theme.
Candidate Kim said, “The number of jobs in Korea is decreasing a lot,” and diagnosed, “Jobs that young people like are going abroad.”
On the other hand, foreign companies do not invest in Korea, he said. “In order to create a business-friendly Korea, first, regulations must be removed and the perception of companies must be changed.”
“Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong also went to prison, and when I asked foreign companies, ‘Isn’t he going to prison after coming to Korea and doing business?’ “There are many regulations such as the Serious Disaster Punishment Act,” he said. “There are rumors around the world that Korea is a good country for business by lifting regulations, so companies around the world should come to Korea and invest.”
“No matter how much the Trump administration raises tariffs, the Republic of Korea must do business here (in Korea) to meet good young people and good workers and succeed,” he said. “The Republic of Korea must become a good country for business to create jobs that young people like.”
Candidate Kim said, “Secondly, it is hopeless that more than 500,000 ‘rested young people’ who do not get a job or look for a job. We will also strengthen various education and training by contacting these young people one by one to find employment jobs and providing IT education to humanities graduates.”
“The various labor systems themselves are rigid,” he said, adding, “We will create a good Korea for businesses so that companies can do business freely by flexibly solving them.”
