Gilad Krein’s Approach to Startup Investments

Gilad Krein is an entrepreneur, investor and marketer with experience building and investing in successful businesses. Krein’s career as a venture capitalist grew out of his interest in technology and how its advancement potentially impacts business growth. “Going from having zero money to becoming wealthy has all the problems that you can imagine,” Krein says. 

Krein’s struggles taught him many crucial lessons that he now wants to share with aspiring entrepreneurs. By teaching them at the start of their journeys, he believes they might have an easier time reaching success than he did. Empowering others is a mission he takes very seriously.

Krein started in digital marketing and this experience shaped how he views businesses. He regards new opportunities not only through the lens of an entrepreneur but also a marketer. During his time as a digital marketer, he became fascinated with the “power of storytelling combined with data-driven strategies” that made brands blossom and thrive in a competitive landscape. He was excited by how that combination could “transform brands and drive measurable impact.”

When he transitioned from marketing into entrepreneurship, Krein developed a strong grasp on the challenges that start-ups face. This knowledge helped him evaluate not only financial figures but also observe the full breadth of opportunities that a start-up provides.

“I understand what it takes to scale a business, build a brand and craft strategies that resonate with audiences,” Krein explains.

Krein has both an entrepreneur and marketer’s eye when regarding potential investments. This dual perspective has resulted in his different approach to entrepreneurship. Whereas other venture capitalists might have a cutthroat mentality and are profit-driven, Krein’s focus is on mentorship and scaling businesses with significant growth through his guidance. Krein calls this a “sprint start,” which he never had.

Though Krein has a global presence, his particular interest is in the UAE and Europe at this time. Additionally, Krein’s interests generally are in businesses with sustainable and ethical growth strategies, which are a reflection of his personal ethics. He hopes to have a significant impact on the world through his investments.
