Global Business Forum summit to benefit SMEs

The small and medium-scale enterprises in sectors such as Information Technology, textiles, renewable energy and pharmaceuticals can benefit from participation at the Global Business Forum that will be organised by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in France next month, said Scott Wang, spokesperson of WTCA.

The WTCA will organise the 2025 Global Business Forum (GBF) from April 6 to 9 and it will be hosted by WTC Marseille Provence, France. The first GBF was held in Bengaluru in 2024. The event, will facilitate access to partnerships, funding options, and market entry strategies.

In 2023, bilateral trade between India and France reached $13.4 billion, which is 7.72% higher than the previous year. France is emerging as a key partner for India in sectors like defence, aerospace, and sustainable infrastructure, he said.

As of 2023, France had close to 4.3 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Indian firms can capitalise on the role of France in the European Single Market to access a market of 500 million consumers across the European Union.

The event will be a combination of conferences, exhibition and networking with discussions on subjects such as free trade, real estate, technology, clean energy, and sustainability, he said.
