Chandigarh: Giving re-employment to any govt employee in Haryana will henceforth be the sole prerogative of the chief minister and will not require any approval from the state cabinet. The state govt has authorised the chief minister to make decisions on behalf of the council of ministers about granting re-employment to retiring officers in the state.
The chief secretary’s office Thursday issued a letter in the form of formal instructions in this regard. This followed a March 25 meeting of the council of ministers, which decided to give the chief minister the full and final authority to approve all cases of re-employment on its behalf.
Under Rule 143 of Haryana Civil Services (General) Rules, 2016, the administrative departments can re-employ a govt employee in the public interest and in exceptional circumstances after the age of superannuation, subject to a maximum of two years, with the approval of the council of ministers.
The fresh instructions have been sent to the administrative secretaries, head of departments, registrar general of the Punjab and Haryana high court, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners of the state for strict compliance.
