Leading UK online broker IG Group (LON:IGG) has announced the appointment of Mike Vaughan as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IG North America, effective 1 October.
IG said that Mike brings more than three decades of experience in the high-growth technology sector, with deep expertise in scaling fintech businesses. The breadth of experience and entrepreneurship Mike brings from his combined operational, advisory and investment background will be invaluable as IG continues to execute on its strategy and grow its active customer base and market share in North America.
Mike Vaughn spent the past three years as Co-Founder and General Partner of Vera Equity, a FinTech focused venture capital firm investing at the pre-seed and seed stages. He was previously a Venture Partner at Healthcare and FinTech VC firm Oak HC/FT. Prior to his venture capital career, Mike spent eight years as COO of P2P payments company Venmo, which was acquired by PayPal.
IG boosted its North America presence buying online broker tastytrade in 2021.
