FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (IDWD) has released its Indiana March 2025 Employment report. In the report, the IDWD said Indiana’s total private employment increased by 9,200 compared to the previous month.
The industries that experienced the most job increase in March include:
- Manufacturing (+3000)
- Leisure & Hospitality (+2,500)
- Trade, Transportation & Utilities (+1,600)
- Financial Activities (+1,300)
- Professional & Business Services (+700)
- Construction (+300)
- All Other (+700)
The report goes on to say that, as of April 1, 2025, there were 89,919 open job postings throughout the state. The IDWD said the unemployment rate in Indiana in March was 4.1%, which is only 0.1% below the national unemployment rate of 4.2% in March.
