EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the deal “Mother of all deals” between two major global economies.
PM Modi confirmed that India and the EU had finalized the Free Trade Agreement after concluding negotiations on Republic Day.
He said the pact represents a “perfect example” of coordination between two large economies and accounts for about 25% of global gross domestic product and nearly one-third of global trade.
“This agreement will create significant opportunities for 140 crore Indians and crores of Europeans,” Modi said while addressing the Indian Energy Week virtually, congratulating both sides on the deal.
