Guwahati: Japanese companies are expanding employment opportunities for Indians through cooperation with Assam, the Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba told a seminar on human resources in Tokyo, underscoring Japan’s growing relationship with India. The seminar organized by the ASEAN One group, in association with the Embassy of India focused on skill mobility and ongoing efforts between India and Japan on this front. “Expanding employment opportunities for Indian nationals in Japanese companies through cooperation between Japanese private companies and the state of Assam and the establishment of a career support office within the Indian Institute of Technology are key to accelerating the exchange of human resources between Japan and India,” Ishiba said in his address on March 24.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday posted a video of Ishiba’s speech at the seminar on X and wrote, “Grateful to H.E Shigeru Ishiba, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Japan for highlighting Assam’s role in expanding Indo-Japan collaboration to equip our youths with skills to provide them job opportunities in Japan.
