Kolhapur: State industries minister Uday Samant on Saturday said govt would expedite the IT Park project in Kolhapur once the site was finalised.
He was speaking at the ‘District Investment Summit -2025′ where he assured that efforts would be taken to set up more quality industrial projects in Kolhapur in the future. A total of 147 industry units signed MoUs worth Rs 4,160 crore during the summit.
The minister said a decision would be made within 15 days to streamline loan approvals from nationalised, district and cooperative banks under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme to boost youth employment opportunities. “Maharashtra is leading the country in industrial investment, with a significant focus on mega and ultra-mega projects. The state has successfully signed agreements worth Rs 4,000 crore, showcasing its commitment to industrial growth. In the first year of the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, over 40,000 entrepreneurs were created under the programme,” Samant said.
Guardian minister Prakash Abitkar, former MLA Sujit Minchekar, Pune division joint director Shailesh Rajput, district industries centre general manager Ajay Patil, Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture president Lalit Gandhi, district collector Amol Yedge, and a large number of entrepreneurs were present at the conference.
“Kolhapur district has a conducive environment for the industrial sector. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar is trying to provide the necessary land to set up an IT park in the city. The industry minister should cooperate to speed up this work by taking a govt decision on the IT Park. I appeal to all the entrepreneurs in the district to cooperate for the growth of the industry sector in the district,” Abitkar said.
