Labor Department Releases March Employment Numbers – The Presidential Prayer Team

The number of jobs added to the economy exceeded expectations.

The U.S. Labor Department reported that employment numbers for March exceeded the amount predicted by economics by nearly 100,000. The massive government layoffs were projected to negatively impact the job market last month with economists estimating an increase of just 140,000.

While federal employment decreased by 4,000 after a decline of 11,000 in February, job gains were widespread in all economic sectors, with the total increase adding 228,000 jobs to the U.S. market last month.

The sectors with the most growth included retail, transportation and warehousing, and construction. The average workweek lengthened, indicating more full-time employment. Wages were also reported to be nearly 4 percent higher than March of 2024.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Labor Secretary Chavez-DeRemer to seek God’s direction as she oversees the agencies in her department.
  • For U.S. labor officials as they assess and review employment statistics and release their findings.
  • With gratitude to the Lord for an increase in employment in the U.S.
