JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The K8 Employment Expo happened on Tuesday, May 6, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Jonesboro.
People could stop by and meet people from various local businesses and learn about different job opportunities.
For Audrey Sanchez, Talent Acquisition Specialist for Ritter Communications, the expo is a way to communicate with people so they can share what they do.
“A lot of folks may be a little bit intimidated about technology, so it’s a little bit easier having a person to talk to and discuss the position in person,” Sanchez said.
Sanchez added that this expo not only allows the community to learn about the company, but for them to learn about the community and what they are looking for in a job.
For Edna Brown, Anchor Packaging Recruiter for Paragould and Marmaduke, it’s about meeting the community face to face.
“I love that part of it. It’s getting to meet the community one-on-one to have that conversation with them. It’s more intimate, and I enjoy that part of it,” Brown said.
Brown added that by meeting in person, they can answer questions for them and tell them more in-depth about what they can offer.
