Megan Thee Stallion is set to become a franchisee!
The Houston, TX-born rapper is diving deeper into her entrepreneurship bag. As AFROTECH™ previously told you, through her music career, she already has full ownership of her master recordings and publishing thanks to her deal with Warner Music Group. She has also gone on to launch her own tequila brand, Chicas Divertidas. At the time of this writing, the brand boasts two offerings: Blanco and Reposado.
“As someone who values good vibes and great memories, I knew I wanted to create a tequila that was designed to be shared and savored with my Hotties,” Megan Thee Stallion said in a news release shared with AFROTECH™. “Smooth, sultry, and premium. This process has been years in the making, and I’m so proud to take this next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and launch this brand. I know the Hotties are ready, it’s time to give them a drink made by me! I’m excited to share this labor of love with you all and hope you are inspired to enter your CHICAS ERA.”
Nearly three months since the tequila’s launch, it appears she is already on to her next business move. Megan Thee Stallion is preparing to open up her own Popeyes storefront, which will also feature her own signature sauce.
“MY VERY OWN @popeyes IS OPENING THIS SUMMER HOTTIES. I just visited my location while she’s still just bones This is abt to be THEE LITTEST Popeyes ever,” the rapper commented on Instagram.
Popeyes first announced Megan Thee Stallion would become one of its franchisees back in 2021. In a press release Sami Siddiqui, president of Popeyes Americas, commented:
“Popeyes’ one-of-a-kind partnership with Megan Thee Stallion goes well beyond the average marketing collaboration. We are unifying two pop culture icons, and Megan’s innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial vision is at the core of everything we’re doing. For the first time ever, we are changing our famous Chicken Sandwich to add a sauce that was custom-made with and for Megan. We are launching three new lines of merchandise designed by Megan to capture her one-of-a-kind style. And, more than that, we are thrilled to welcome Megan to the Popeyes franchisee family and look forward to working closely with her over many years as she begins her journey as a restaurateur.”
