MHR, a leading provider of HR, payroll, and finance software, is announcing a strategic partnership with data and technology company, Experian, to integrate its Work Report service into MHR’s platforms.
This means that the 3.4 million employees across MHR’s UK customer base will have the opportunity to instantly and securely digitally verify their income and employment details for moments where they need to prove where they work and what they earn, including accessing benefits, making a major purchase, applying for a credit card, buying a home, or applying for a job.
Different scenarios in life require employees to share different levels of income and employment data, and these requests often rely on manual payslip submissions or written references that are inefficient, inconvenient, and prone to delay.
HR teams are burdened with employment and income verification requests, and the high sensitivity around payroll data security means these requests need to be handled with care.
Work Report helps support financial inclusion by enabling individuals to evidence their actual employment and earnings records in real-time. The integration with Experian’s Work Report network will also enable employees to control their data sharing with explicit one-time consent, where data is only shared for a specific purpose, minimising unnecessary exposure.
By integrating Experian’s Work Report into their existing HR, payroll, and finance platform, MHR customers can cut down on paperwork, reduce the risk of errors, and potentially save hundreds of administrative hours each month, freeing HR teams to focus on higher value activities.
For employees, simplifying the verification process will help individuals who may face challenges in accessing financial services, including young professionals and international hires.
Ian Stewart, Chief Marketing Officer at MHR, said: “Our partnership with Experian reflects our commitment to delivering solutions that enhance the employee experience while reducing administrative overheads, replacing slow, manual and insecure methods with instant, verified, and secure data sharing.
“By integrating Work Report into our platforms, we are working with our customers to empower their employees to securely share their income and employment data in real time, facilitating quicker access to essential services and supporting financial inclusion, and helping ease the stress of the whole process.”
David Bates, Managing Director, Credit and Verification Services, Experian UK&I, said: “At Experian, our focus is on driving value for our customers through data and technology.
“Income verification is a key point of friction in many financial journeys, something which Work Report reduces enormously. Employees can share their employment and income data confidently and securely, while their employers can enjoy a more efficient, accurate process.”
Work Report will be integrated into MHR’s iTrent platform from June 2025, and its People First platform from early 2026. This integration is available at no additional cost to MHR customers.
Only the necessary data is requested, and all income and employment data remains within the employer’s environment, is only accessed with the explicit consent of the employee, and is shared privately. MHR clients will be provided with full information and given instructions on how to enable this service for their employees.
