As part of moves to tackle youth unemployment, the Government of Ghana has joined forces with TP, a global leader in digital outsourcing solutions, to unveil a new branch in Accra.
This expansion marks the third office established by the company in the country and is projected to generate thousands of new jobs for Ghanaian youth.
TP, known worldwide for its excellence in customer service, content moderation, and digital support solutions, continues to invest in Ghana’s growing digital economy.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation as part of its strategic vision to transform Ghana’s job market.
Thomas Mackenbrock, Deputy CEO of TP, shared the company’s ambitious plans to hire over 5,000 young professionals nationwide.
He highlighted that the partnership aligns perfectly with Ghana’s efforts to curb unemployment and emphasized Teleperformance’s readiness to support a conducive business environment in the country.
Mackenbrock noted the firm’s rapid growth—from launching with just 36 employees in January 2022 to now employing over 1,300 individuals across two active locations.
With operations in more than 95 countries and a global workforce nearing half a million, Teleperformance sees Ghana as a key part of its African growth strategy.
To show the company’s commitment, TP’s Global CEO and Founder, Daniel Julien, visited Ghana to explore its potential as a key growth hub in the region.
In a remark, Mr. Elhadi O. Bencherif, TP’s Country Lead, also had this to say:
“Together with our leadership, we are truly proud to see that what began as a small initiative in Ghana, is now embraced with tremendous support and goodwill. We are also immensely grateful to the government for providing us with a conducive business environment that supports our vision to create meaningful jobs for the youth in the digital space”.
On behalf of the Ministry of Communications, Simon Madjie, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) addressing the gathering, praised the collaboration, citing it as a major step in the government’s 24-hour economy initiative.
He expressed optimism that the initial 5,000 jobs could double in the near future.
Adding to the momentum, Dzifa Gunu, CEO of Ghana Digital Centres Limited, applauded the public-private partnership, reaffirming its importance in achieving the government’s broader goal of creating sustainable employment opportunities for the nation’s youth.
