Bengaluru: The Karnataka tourism policy is set to attract around Rs 8,000 crore in direct investment and generate 1.5 lakh employment opportunities in the next four years.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah, who unveiled the policy Wednesday during the inaugural of Karnataka International Travel Expo-2025, said a budget of Rs 1,350 crore was provided for operationalising it. The policy provides attractive incentives for hotels, resorts, wayside amenities, wellness retreats, adventure sports and cruise tourism, the CM said while exhorting investors to come up with proposals.
The CM said: “In the last two years, our govt allocated over Rs 440 crore towards infrastructure, products and human resource development in the state’s tourism sector.”
