Over 600 candidates selected at job fair held in Thoothukudi

A total of 642 candidates were selected by the companies participating in the job fair held at St Mary’s College in Thoothukudi on Saturday.

The event was jointly organised by the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre, State Rural and Urban Livelihood Mission and St Mary’s College under the supervision of the district administration.

Over 100 companies participated and eight skill training providers participated in the job fair. A total of 2,223 candidates registered for the event with 1,143 men, 1,072 women and eight individuals from other categories.

Following the interview process and document verification, a total of 642 candidates were spot selected by various companies including 367 men and 275 women.

Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Minister P. Geetha Jeevan participated in the event and handed over the appointment orders to the selected candidates.
