Lahore, (PR) : Pakistan Markazi Muslim League has launched the country’s largest digital employment initiative under the banner “Salahiat Barhao Apna Kamao.” The program kicked off with an overwhelming response, as over 3,000 classrooms across all major and smaller cities, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, were filled with hundreds of thousands of participants attending the first session.
This nationwide campaign aims to equip youth and women with digital skills. A significant number of women actively participated in the program, reflecting a growing interest in digital empowerment across genders. The first lecture, delivered by Malik Waqas Saeed, Head of Digital Media for the Markazi Muslim League, focused on e-commerce and online marketing, offering participants a gateway into the world of digital entrepreneurship.
The program will continue from May 1st to May 10th, with daily sessions held from 9 PM to 11 PM.
Tabish Qayyum, spokesperson for Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, emphasized that this initiative is a continuation of the party’s mission to serve the people. “At a time when concerns about national stability dominate discussions, our youth are choosing to learn and contribute to strengthening Pakistan. This is a powerful message to the world,” he said.
Qayyum also stated that while government claims about digital transformation remain largely unfulfilled, the Markazi Muslim League is taking practical steps. “We aim to transform at least 200,000 Pakistanis into IT professionals. From Quetta to Khyber, in villages, mosques, parks, and roadside setups — people are learning. We’ve effectively turned Pakistan into a vast IT park,” he said.
He further criticized the regional disparity in digital advancement, noting that neighboring countries have significantly progressed in digital economy while Pakistan still lags behind. “Unlike institutes that charge heavy fees, our program is completely free, because this is about national survival and economic uplift,” he added.
At the conclusion of the program, certificates will be awarded to those with consistent attendance, giving formal recognition to their efforts and learning.
This initiative marks a historic step in digital empowerment, with hopes that it will reshape the future of Pakistan’s youth and strengthen the national economy through practical skill development.
