The Oddie District, a transformative redevelopment project in Reno-Sparks, has entered Phase II of construction.
This ambitious initiative is converting a former Lowe’s Home Improvement center into a vibrant business innovation hub, blending the maker economy, advanced engineering, humanoid robotics, and more.
Located at 2450 Oddie Blvd., the project is expected to be substantially completed by late 2025 or early 2026. Foothill Partners, Inc. is the developer, with investment from Belay Investment Group and construction financing by Heritage Bank of Nevada.
Phase I, which opened in 2022, saw The Reno Generator, a large community maker space, relocate to the site. This move has been pivotal in revitalizing the Oddie Blvd. corridor, offering artists and engineers a platform to innovate and contribute to Northern Nevada’s maker economy.
Phase II aims to further establish The Oddie District as a regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship. Announced businesses include Cartwheel Robotics, Nevadaworks, The Innovation Collective, Coffeebar, Dopo Pizza, Mythic Gymnastics, and Ajaba Naturals.
The district will also feature The Oddie Commons, offering diverse food, beverage, and entertainment options, anchored by a Coffeebar coffeehouse.
“The Oddie District is a testament to the power of reimagining urban spaces to meet evolving needs in our communities,” said Doug Wiele, Founder and CEO of Foothill Partners. “We are creating a place where innovation thrives, where artists find a home, where businesses grow, where workers advance, and where families come together to enjoy diverse shared experiences.”
Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson expressed enthusiasm for the district’s impact, stating, “The maker space currently home to the Generator is already attracting new tenants to Sparks. Businesses like Cartwheel Robotics, Mythic Gymnastic Center, Nevadaworks, Innovation Collective, and Oddie Commons will bring valuable opportunities to the residents of Sparks.”
Nettie Oliverio, COO and Director of Arts & Culture of Foothill Partners, added, “We are witnessing the emergence of a truly unique ecosystem that will serve as a beacon for creativity, technological advancement, and community engagement in the heart of Reno-Sparks. The Oddie District is more than just a collection of businesses; it’s a carefully curated ecosystem designed to foster collaboration, ignite innovation, build culture and enhance the quality of life for the entire region.”
