Private equity and alternative investments have emerged as major funding channels for global corporates in 2025, with 26% of C-suite executives planning to raise capital via these routes, according to the Forvis Mazars’ C-suite Barometer report.
The global survey, which captured responses from over 1,700 business leaders across more than 35 countries including South Africa – revealed an upbeat but wary sentiment. Despite escalating competition, policy uncertainty and volatile geopolitics, an overwhelming 93% of respondents expected growth in the year ahead.
A media release accompanying the report highlighted the increasing relevance of this trend in South Africa. Wiehann Olivier (pictured above), a partner and head of private equity at Forvis Mazars South Africa, said the local market was adapting to constrained credit conditions.
