Turner & Townsend recognised as a Veteran Employer of Choice in Australia

Turner & Townsend, the global professional services company, is now recognised as a Veteran Employer of Choice in Australia.

By joining the Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC), Turner & Townsend publicly affirms its dedication to providing opportunities for Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans and assisting them and their families with a successful transition to civilian careers.

The Australian Government’s Veteran Employment Programme (VEP) delivers initiatives that support organisations in Australia to improve employment outcomes for ADF veterans.

Some of the Programme’s initiatives include promoting the skills veterans bring to the workforce to increase employment opportunities; encouraging and supporting employers to recruit and retain veterans by building veteran-inclusive environments; and deliver targeted programmes and resources to support the collective efforts of the veteran employment community.

Putting this into action, Turner & Townsend established a Military Employee Network Group in its Australia business to bridge the company’s strategic goals with the diverse voices of its people to connect veterans, reservists and their families, while fostering a sense of community.

Furthermore, Turner & Townsend has implemented recruitment processes which match roles to veteran job seekers, provide a dedicated point of contact for veteran applicants and hosts specific veteran recruitment events.

Globally, Turner & Townsend is dedicated to creating equitable opportunities for all.

Darren Munton, Regional Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, at Turner & Townsend, said:

“The VEC recognises organisations for their current workplace policies and practices that support veteran employment.”

Our recognition as a Veteran Employer of Choice demonstrates our continued commitment to enhancing recruitment, retention, and support practices for veterans in Australia.

“By doing so, our business benefits from the broad range of skills Veterans offer and contributes to an inclusive and supportive environment for all.”
