ROC the Block employment fairs kick off Wednesday

ROC the Block logoThe first of four ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs is set for Wednesday at the International Plaza on North Clinton Avenue.

Once a month for four months, ROC the Block brings employers and recruiters to a centralized location. Wednesday’s event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Employers taking part include the University of Rochester, Walmart, the Rochester City School District, CDS Monarch, city of Rochester, Monroe County, ITEC Training & Education Center, HCR Homecare, FedEx, Bausch & Lomb, Access VR and Wegmans.

Organized in block-party fashion, ROC the Block employment fairs provide a relaxed atmosphere where job-seekers can learn about employment opportunities.

Future fairs are set for:

• July 16 at the Rochester Public Market (280 N. Union St.)

• Aug. 20 at the Salvation Army (100 West Ave.)

• Sept. 24 at Parcel 5 (285 E. Main St.)
