Trump Calls Employment ‘Strong’ and Again Pushes for Fed Rate Cut

Minutes after the latest employment report showed the U.S. economy added 177,000 jobs in April, President Donald Trump weighed in, calling the labor market “strong” and again urging the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates.

In a social media post Friday morning, Trump praised current gas prices, grocery costs, mortgage rates and the latest employment data, saying that it all amounted to “good news.” He said he’s seeing “billions of dollars pour in” from revenues generated by the recent tariff hikes.

“Just like I said, and we’re only in a TRANSITION STAGE, just getting started!!! Consumers have been waiting for years to see pricing come down,” Trump wrote.
