The arrests stem from officers’ response to a disturbance call in front of a business in the 3100 block of East Sunset Road on Jan. 30. Numerous people had gathered at the business and told officers they had been victims of a scam, the release stated.
Detectives learned that on Jan. 21, there was a job offer listed online advertising employment for a third-party delivery services. The victims had been instructed to report to the business on Sunset to fill out an application and pay a fee.
Once the money was collected, a future interview date was given. The victims then returned to the business to follow up on the application and learned it had been vacated by the suspects.
