MANGALURU: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna met Minister for Electronics, IT/BT Priyank Kharge and appealed for the approval of an IT-BT Park project in Udupi, a long-standing demand of the youth in the region.
Udupi district, popularly known as an educational hub, consistently achieves remarkable academic results and earns recognition at the global level.
The MLA stated that the district enjoys excellent connectivity and made significant strides in tourism, fisheries, religious centres, education, healthcare, banking, and the cooperative sector.
Every year, thousands of students graduate with engineering degrees, but due to a lack of employment opportunities locally, they are compelled to migrate to other districts or states in search of jobs. It is our collective responsibility to create employment avenues within the district for these talented graduates.
To provide employment opportunities locally and prevent the migration of engineering graduates from the district, MLA Suvarna requested the minister to take special interest and necessary steps to implement the IT-BT Park project in Udupi, either through government initiative or in collaboration with private partnership.
