Ultraviolette, a pioneering Indian performance electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced a strategic investment from TDK Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of TDK Corporation. The partnership marks a significant step in Ultraviolette’s mission to scale globally competitive, performance-oriented EVs that showcase Indian innovation and engineering excellence.
With this investment, TDK Ventures joins Ultraviolette’s roster of prominent institutional backers, including Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, Speciale Invest, Lingotto (formerly Exor Capital), and TVS Motor Company. The company also boasts notable angel investors such as Sriharsha Majety (Co-founder & CEO, Swiggy), Ankit Nagori (Co-founder, Cure Foods; former Chief Business Officer, Flipkart), Aprameya Radhakrishna (Co-founder, TaxiForSure), and actor-entrepreneur Dulquer Salmaan.
Founded with a vision to merge futuristic design with precision engineering, Ultraviolette has dedicated years of intensive R&D to create its flagship product, the F77. The high-performance electric motorcycle has set new standards for safety, technology, and performance, positioning itself among the most advanced electric two-wheelers globally. Building on this foundation, Ultraviolette is now focused on scaling manufacturing, deepening research, expanding distribution, and entering international markets.
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said, “Mobility is undergoing a radical transformation, and at Ultraviolette, we are leading that change through cutting-edge innovation. Our partnership with TDK Ventures fast forwards our efforts, from advanced battery platforms to intelligent vehicle systems. This collaboration not only accelerates our vision of future-ready mobility but also reinforces our commitment to delivering electric vehicles that are aspirational and globally relevant.”
Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-founder, added, “Through this partnership with TDK Ventures, Ultraviolette will continue to innovate in deep-tech to shape the future of mobility. Together, we will push the boundaries in building safer, smarter, and more efficient electric mobility ecosystems.”
Ravi Jain, Investment Director at TDK Ventures, commented, “We look forward to bringing our TDK Goodness to Ultraviolette and their ambitious plan to design the next generation of energy-efficient, high-performance EV two-wheeler platforms. TDK Ventures is excited to support Ultraviolette in their relentless pursuit of global expansion.”
This investment builds on TDK Ventures’ growing engagement with India’s innovation landscape. In late 2023, the firm launched its Bengaluru Innovation Hub to empower Indian entrepreneurs with the resources and expertise needed to scale their technologies on a global stage, with Ultraviolette now a key part of that vision.
