To support Bhurji community artisans, UP Khadi Board will distribute 10 free motorised popcorn machines to promote traditional industry and boost self-employment

Following the Uttar Pradesh government’s instructions to boost self-employment and income opportunities in the state, the Khadi and Village Industries Board will distribute free motorised popcorn machines to selected candidates. The department has invited applications for this scheme in Jhansi, and interested individuals can apply online through the department’s official website.
Free Machines
Jhansi District Village Industries Officer Ramkishore stated that in an effort to uplift artisans of the Bhurji community and others interested in this traditional industry, the UP Khadi and Village Industries Board has set a target of distributing motorised popcorn-making machines, free of cost, to 10 candidates.
Eligibility And Application Details
The officer further informed that entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 50 from the district who are involved in or interested in the traditional Bhurji community trade can apply online at upkvib.gov.in under the ‘Online Toolkits’ section until May 10, 2025.
