Blackbird Ventures is preparing to complete the first close of its new multimillion-dollar fund. The move by Australia’s biggest venture capital firm comes as it looks to build on the momentum of the last fund it raised – $1 billion in 2022 – and back the next wave of technology start-ups.
Blackbird, which has built its reputation on backing some of Australia’s best-known unicorns – including design darling Canva and safety app SafetyCulture – is targeting $700 million-plus for its sixth fund.
