TA Ventures, the Ukrainian venture capital firm led by Victoria Tigipko, has joined a $15 million funding round for Tarjama, a leading AI-driven language technology provider based in Dubai and operating across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The round was led by Global Ventures, with participation from Wamda Capital, Phaze Capital, Golden Gate Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst.
The funding will support the scaling of Arabic.AI, Tarjama’s proprietary agent-based AI ecosystem designed to help businesses solve complex challenges while accounting for the linguistic, cultural, and economic nuances of the Arabic-speaking world.
Founded in 2009, Tarjama maintains offices in the UAE and operates in over 30 countries. To date, the company has processed more than 2 billion words across 50+ languages and 22 Arabic dialects.
A key innovation driving this round is Pronoia V2, Tarjama’s latest product and the world’s first large language model (LLM) purpose-built for Arabic. The model reportedly outperforms GPT-4o, DeepSeek-V3, and Cohere on Arabic-language tasks, combining high speed, safety, and contextual accuracy.
