Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday directed the officials to formulate a new policy to ensure employment for persons with disabilities and also start a new scheme on the lines of Ladki Bahin Yojana for them in the state.
The CM also directed officials to prepare a special housing scheme called Gharkul Scheme to provide the rightful shelter to persons with disabilities. Under the scheme, the government will help the beneficiaries who do not have their own land with the necessary land to build a house.
“They are born with disabilities or due to some reason have to face many difficulties in their lives. They have to find a way to excel in their life by overcoming their disabilities. New schemes and policies should be formulated to bring prosperity in the life of such disabled brothers,” Fadnavis said while giving instructions to implement these policies and schemes effectively.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a review meeting organized at Sahyadri Guest House regarding various problems of the disabled brothers.
The CM also said that a ‘district divyang bhavan’ will be set up to ensure such persons get all facilities under one roof.
Just like the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme, financial aid received through Special Assistance Scheme will be credited through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Fadnavis said.
“The state government is trying to make it easier for the disabled brothers in the state to get benefits, and the financial assistance of the disabled brothers will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries as per the Ladki Bahin Scheme. The government is also positive about increasing the financial assistance of the disabled beneficiaries and is positive about empowering the disabled and improving their quality of life,” a statement said.
