Andrew “Andy” Goldberg
Nomura Asset Management has appointed Andrew “Andy” Goldberg as Chief Investment Strategist of Nomura Asset Management International, a newly created role aimed at strengthening the firm’s global investment thought leadership and expanding its engagement across institutional and wealth management channels.
In the position, Goldberg will be responsible for developing and commercializing investment insights across Nomura’s platform, with a focus on positioning the firm as a more prominent voice in global markets and portfolio strategy. The role is designed to bridge investment research with client-facing communication, translating macroeconomic and market developments into actionable perspectives for advisors and institutional investors.
Shawn Lytle, Chief Executive Officer of Nomura Asset Management International, said the appointment reflects the firm’s broader strategy to expand its global footprint and deepen its client engagement capabilities. “As we continue to expand our global presence, the addition of Andy Goldberg reflects our commitment to strengthening our capabilities for our clients,” Lytle said. “His proven ability to create compelling, client-focused insight and his deep relationships across the wealth management industry will be instrumental as we execute our growth strategy.”
Goldberg will also serve as a primary external spokesperson for the firm, contributing market commentary, media analysis, and investment perspectives, while working closely with portfolio management teams to highlight the firm’s capabilities across equities, fixed income, municipal markets, multi-asset strategies, and private credit.
He said Nomura Asset Management is building on a broad investment foundation that spans both public and private markets. “Nomura Asset Management International is building an impressive platform,” Goldberg said. “They have deep expertise across equities, fixed income including municipals, and private credit. I’m excited to help tell that story and position the firm as a go-to resource for clients navigating today’s complex markets.”
Goldberg brings more than two decades of experience in investment strategy and client-facing market communication. He spent over 20 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management and J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he developed and led thought leadership initiatives aimed at global financial advisor and institutional audiences. During that time, he became widely known for simplifying complex investment themes for wealth management professionals and their clients.
More recently, Goldberg served as Head of Collectible Car Lending at Sotheby’s Financial Services, where he led a team focused on asset-backed financing for high-net-worth collectors. That role expanded his exposure to alternative lending and non-traditional asset classes, adding to his experience across both traditional and specialty finance markets.
At Nomura Asset Management, his mandate will include leading the firm’s external thought leadership strategy, coordinating with investment teams to communicate portfolio positioning, and delivering customized insights for institutional clients. The firm said the goal is to strengthen its visibility in global investment conversations while reinforcing its advisory capabilities for clients navigating increasingly complex market conditions.
Nomura Asset Management is part of Nomura Group’s Investment Management Division and manages approximately $860 billion in assets under management. The firm operates across equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and private credit strategies, serving both institutional and wealth management clients globally.
The company’s strategy is anchored in active management, research-driven investment processes, and risk discipline, with an emphasis on adapting to shifting macroeconomic and market environments. Goldberg’s appointment adds a senior-facing communications and strategy layer to that structure, as the firm looks to expand its influence in global investment discourse alongside its product offerings.
