European Commission invests in domestic startup of smart energy generating solar panel window blinds InVenture

Ukrainian startup SolarGaps attracted USD 50 000 in the frames of Horizon 2020 SME initiative financing innovations.  SolarGaps is an idea of Energy Generating Solar Panel Window.

The raised funds will be channeled into obtaining of certificates in the EU and other testing needs along with marketing efforts, according to Eugene Erik, the founder of SolarGaps. Solar Gaps plans to participate in the next round of the program that envisages investment of EUR 1.5mln too.

Horizon 2020 is the largest program of the EU aiming at investment in development in science and innovations during 2014-2020. The budget of the fund amounts to EUR 80bn. A still another startup from Ukraine Polyteda Cloud got the financing in the frames of Horizon 2020 initiative of the EU back in December 2016.

SolarGaps are smart blinds that automatically track the sun and generate electricity from its energy.

To remind, SolarGaps collected USD 50 000 at crowdfunding Kickstarter in May 2017. Earlier in 2016, Effective Investments invested USD 200 000 into the project.
