Korea Investment & Securities announced on the 7th that it will launch the “Korea Investment JP Morgan U.S. Tech Securities Investment Trust” in cooperation with global asset manager JP Morgan Asset Management.

This fund is a re-indirect product with the ‘JP Morgan American Technology Fund’ set up in Luxembourg as its parent fund. More than 60% of the total assets are invested in parent funds to invest in companies that are in line with the long-term growth trend of the U.S. technology industry.

The product is the follow-up to a strategic business agreement signed in March by Korea Investment & Securities and JP Morgan Asset Management. Through the agreement, the two companies decided to strengthen cooperation with retail customers by expanding JP Morgan Asset Management’s global products to domestic investors and providing global market insights through the Korea Investment & Securities Mobile Trading System (MTS).

The JP Morgan Global High Yield Fund, which was previously introduced as the first product of collaboration, raised about 81.2 billion won in retail funds a week after the sale began on March 9.

The JP Morgan U.S. Tech Fund for Korea Investment is characterized by selecting stocks based on fundamental research, rather than relying solely on specific indexes or large technology stocks. It will find a wide range of companies related to networking, power, memory, and customized processors that are expected to benefit from the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure, as well as large technology companies such as Nvidia, Apple, and Microsoft.

The portfolio is distributed into about 50 to 70 stocks. Portfolio managers with an average of more than 23 years of management experience select investment targets by comprehensively analyzing a company’s growth, profitability, and valuation based on bottom-up research.

JP Morgan Asset Management is a global asset management company with operating assets worth about $4.2 trillion worldwide. It operates a research platform with an annual research budget of about $480 million and about 100 analysts. It exclusively provides market analysis data and investment insights of JP Morgan Asset Management to customers of Korea Investment & Securities.
