LG AI Research will pursue a financial AI agent service for retail investors with London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Kiwoom Securities.

The three parties signed a strategic tripartite business agreement on the afternoon of April 13 at Kiwoom Securities headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. Under the agreement, they will enhance retail AI investment insights by providing stock-specific prediction scores and commentary in an easy-to-understand format on Kiwoom Securities’ investor platform. They will also jointly identify asset management-focused services by combining AI and data platform capabilities, expand asset management AI solutions, and conduct joint marketing to lead standards in the AI-based investment services market.

The three parties said they expect the cooperation to become South Korea’s first commercialised example of an “Explainable AI Investing” service for retail investors.

LG AI Research plans to implement the “Explainable AI Investing” service with its partners by using “EXAONE-Business Intelligence,” a financial AI agent designed to answer “why” questions rather than only producing prediction scores.

Ju-sung Eom (엄주성), CEO of Kiwoom Securities, said the goal is to create an environment in which retail investors can make investment decisions more easily through an investment service that combines AI technology and global data. He said the company plans to continue upgrading its asset management services and platform to improve customers’ investment convenience and usability.

Nicolas Falmagne (니콜라스 팔마뉴), LSEG global head of sales, said the cooperation marks an important turning point in creating greater value across the broader financial ecosystem. He said LG’s EXAONE-BI differs from existing services by providing both forecasts and commentary, and added he expects the partnership with Kiwoom Securities to offer South Korean retail investors a more transparent and easier-to-understand AI investment experience.

Woo-hyung Lim (임우형), head of LG AI Research, said explainability and reliability are as important as accuracy for financial AI agents. He stressed that EXAONE BI is evolving into a practical AI agent that helps human judgement through a structure in which expert agents collaborate across analysis, forecasting and report generation, and that this is meaningful as an example of LG’s vertical AI technology combining with global financial infrastructure and connecting to an actual service.
